Squirrelmail does not require sendmail or imapd, it just requires an SMTP server and an IMAP server. Due to historical security issues, we are running qmail instead of squirrelmail. We also chose Courier IMAP instead of imapd. Squirrelmail works flawlessly with both.

I have Installed sequirrelmail 1.4.2..on my linux red hate7.2 PC, its web and mail server as well and running sendmail mail server here....I am not well on IMAP server...I have install squirrelmail on my web root directory without knowing abt IMAP. the squirrelmail is running fine...But I want to be sure about the IMAP is in my Server or not...plz help me...how I can be sure about IMAP????
