This was a very detailed review of the 802.11 protocol itself plus its application to wireless networking. The author explores each detail of 802.11 down to the protocol definitions and syntax of each type of packet. From here a survay of the types of networks that can be set up are covered as well as the various pieces of wireless networks including access points and end points. The level of detail could be viewed as overwhelming if you are only trying to set up a home router, but it will be much appreciated for those who need a closer look at 802.11 for experimental, scholarly or professional use. |
