Head First books are in a rut. They're in the same vein, but definitely not as cool, as the old Classic Comics. Slick marketing, though. Head First is mining latest "brain science" fad. Maybe they are on to something---hot chicks looking up at you is certainly more marketable that the usual antique etching of a vanishing species.


For a good example of how a book should be written, look no further than O'Reilly's very own "Javascript: The Good Parts" by Douglas Crockford.
