I built my first PC in 1986. I have been hemming and hawing about certifacations for about 4 years.
I read every word in the A+ Nutshell book, once. For me, it was 90 percent memory lane and ten percent new stuff. I put a line in the sand. I set a test date about two weeks out.
I did a number of rereads of my notes to imprint this stuff in my mind's eye. Then I reread those week areas that the book test offered as well as downloaded sample tests revealed. Two days before each test, I practice tested every practice test question I could find.
After that, I was ready for the Essentials and the IT Tech exams.
At age 60, experince, and the book, I passed both the A+ Essentials and the IT Technician on my first try. The A+ logo on my business card looks pretty good. I will definitely use this book for my Network +.
