Bought this book as I had to quickly develop an ASP.NET application in VS2005. I am primarily a Java Web developer, and ASP.NET (C#) follows quite a different paradigm to Java Web Development.
This book however made the transition remarkably easy. It explains all the concepts of ASP.NET, the underlying architecture and mechanisms and how to develop web applications in VS2005 (it also explains the means for developing if you just want to use a text editor).
This book does not have to be read sequentially, and it is quite possible to jump to the chapter of relevance. This is good, because the book covers quite a lot of ground, from building simple web apps, to accessing databases to building web services.
Definitely one of the better O'Reilly books.
