Soon after getting CS2 and working through basic lessons in the manual, I came across this book in the store. A year later, I still refer to it for aspects of this fantastic design application that I need to brush up on or haven't needed to work with before.

However, I found this book to be superlative in quickly teaching me how to use InD's wide range of tools and capabilities to achieve the kinds of graphics effects we all see in magazines. It is jam-packed with well organized, thoughtfully presented, and beautifully ilustrated information, and includes step-by-step instruction in using some of the capabilites that you won't find adequately presented in Adobe's help files.

Best of all, the files used by the authors are available for download from O'reilly, so that you can see all the specs from the examples and understand how they were made even more specifically that from the book's descriptions.
