This book has to be the best and most definitive books on windows forms around, it covers every aspect of building a windows application with a large focus on the layout (windows forms) and event handlers. The code examples are for both VB.net and C#, while it was made for .net 1.1 almost all of the examples work fine with C# 2 (.net 2), with the only differences being in how they look (the new .net 2 apps have an office 2003 style theme). This is the .net equivalent of "Programming Windows" by Charles Petzold. It is a bit long, however it does cover two languages, as well as most of the extensive range of form controls.
