I have been using Oracle since lateversion 4 (as programmer, DBA and instructor) and I've never run across any book that explains so many areas of Oracle database so concisely.
Anyone monitoring the Oracle newsgroup lately will realize that I think this is the best 'quick start' book for newbies, experienced Oracle DBAs (especially those upgradng) and most importantly for those moving across from other databases. This is a MUST READ springboard for any and all other Oracle books.
I have loaned my copy out several times now, even to hardware vendor technical specialists. In every case, I've received it back within 2 weeks - because the person I loaned it to bought their own copy for permanent reference.
I eagerly look forward to the update, scheduled in June.
