I just recently start purchasing computer books and I must say Oreilly books the top in the industry. i am a person that learn best by examples, so instead of reading 800 page textbook, I learn so much more from just typing up examples (you can also download them but I prefer to type them up, short ones anyways) and running them. Java examples are just a book of examples after example that teach you by doing, perfect book for me.
