Bio

Eric Allman authored sendmail and syslog in 1981 while at the University of California at Berkeley. Sendmail was the first electronic mail transfer agent for the Internet and is still in use to this day; syslog has become ubiquitous. He has also worked on one of the first relational databases (INGRES), neural networks, large scale and parallel infrastructure, stream databases, and secure distributed data focusing on IOT. He is currently retired.
