I am buying a recorder as a gift for my son, who would use it for practice/playback of both voice and guitar lessons, as well as general recording. I'm willing to spend enough to get a good quality recorder that will last and expand with his abilities as he grows as a musician. I notice he plays along with itunes and such, and seems to learn some by ear. I bet he would love the loop and slow-down features, at the very least.
I have read up on the various models out there, but I am not a techie or a musician myself, so I'm not sure how well I'm evaluating what I read. These 2 models seem fairly similar to me, except that the GT-R1 has more practice/composing tools on board. Is that correct?
Do you feel the tools they've included on the GT-R1 are helpful/fun enough for a budding musician that it might be worth the extra bucks?
Finally, do you have any comment on how the DR-07 fits in this mix?
Many thanks for your interesting and very understandable review(s).
