John Nack pointed out on his blog (http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2008/12/useful_lightroo.html#comments) that you can toggle the TAT on/off by pressing the letter T, and that you can save a Snapshot from any panel by pressing Shift-Cmd-S/Shift-Ctrl-S.
