HD Cameras, especially the RED camera are drastically changing the independent landscape. The cheaper technology allows filmmakers to make their dream projects at a higher quality, where as before they were limited in the scope and quality they could achieve. This will only get better as the tech advances, so, equipment won't be the limiting factor that separates the studios from the armatures, it will be more biased toward talent. HD cameras have also allowed new ventures for indie film companies to find financing. In the case of our company we've been able to rent our RED camera to help offset the purchase price.
