O.K. Bear with me I'm new at this.
I want to know if you record a band without using stop/pause and fill the file, can you go back and remove the songs you want and/or edit or delete the ones you don't want. I ask because a friend recorded us live on his DAT. He could not edit.
I'm also looking at the Olympus LS-10 & the Tascam DR-1. Do any or all of these recorders address my ignorance.

@Hadjidakis: There are some recorders that let you edit on the device itself (I have one). But it's far, far easier to edit audio in a computer, where you can see a representation of the waveform. See my primer at http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/2006/10/26/quickstart-digital-audio-editing.html.

With any of the recorders we've reviewed, you transfer the audio to the computer by connecting the recorder to a USB jack and dragging the file over. (The recorder appears to the computer as an external hard drive.)
