You could go all the way back to your high school or middle school classes and make the same argument. Lot of the stuff is just BS with no real world applications. Stuff that's not applicable to your future college course, future jobs, or personal life. Back in the 8th grade science class, I remember balancing out chemistry equations, or something like that. What was the point? It's supposed to expose you to different careers? Nonsense. What did I learn about being a chemist, or what the chemistry field was all about? Nothing. The only people those courses serve are more teachers getting more paychecks. That might seem a little harsh, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. What can you do with a high school diploma? Not much. 12 years of education for a minimum wage job? It's supposed to prepare you for college? Well, how many high/middle school courses are you using in your college classes? I sure am not using any 8th grade chemistry knowledge.
