Very good review. I just tried the unit for 4 days, and everything you mentioned is right, the built, size, lcd and the wind screen is a must, this mics clip very easily, they are ok, the problem is the mini-jack connection, if you need phantom power mics you'll pay almost the same for a battery unit. I've been using a Microtrack for 2 years now, with a Canford stereo pre-amp and a couple of AKG blue line mics in MS configuration, and it works in any situation... for me its the price of this unit... it is much easier to go for a Foxtex FR2 LE, with superb pre-amps (same price tag in Europe) and a bit big or even the new Edirol R44 (plastic I know), but 4 XLR with 48V... That's the dilema... Any way its a very good looking machine this Sony, in a gadget way...
