To my detriment and eternal damnation, I have disabled User Account Control. In a home office, with complete physical security, an administrator shouldn't have to confirm a decision already made. I personally like the Unix su (superuser) command which is like Administrator but assumes you know what you are doing. You can even do it in just one window to avoid casually screwing up. Maybe UAC is justified in an office. And people wonder why folks are sticking with XP. |
