I did the firmware update.

The microtrack is now dead.

Why? Not sure.

I'm thinking there must be a button combo
to reset to factory 1.0 operating system?

I have been using this thing ever since I bought it. I am not delicate with it. It has held up very well.

Can't wait to do the firmware upgrade.
Sounds like it would make it more of a real audio device and not just a quirk of the audio market.

Even with it's warts I still like it. The original dealbreaker was the short life of the battery. I'll get the usb battery pack. Life is good.

Hi...while waiting for a response from m-audio I came across your posting. I'm hoping that because of the date you found a solution. I have a MicroTrack 24/96, upgraded to the latest firmware - 1.4.6 and now the unit is dead. Were you ever able to identify the code behind a factory reset? I've tried everything I can possibly think of and checked out the maudio website with no luck. Basically I now have a high tech paperweight. Any guidance would be appreciated...thanks much, mike

Hi, I'd like to love this, but I'd say I only like it. The battery/charge is my biggest beef. Like another user, every time I turn it off, it dies. It seems like every time I turn it on, it has about 20 mins of recording time, then warns me to recharge. When it charges, should I be seeing the USB 3-prong symbol and M-Audio, with a moving filling-battery symbol in the top right corner? And when it's charged fully, what should I see on the screen? I've thought before that maybe it needs to be returned, but now it's out of warranty...

I paid $400 for mine so I've had it for almost 2 yrs. I think. I've done all the firmware updates with ease. Love the sound! I appreciate all the tips the board has had about getting the most out of the battery--there are some I have yet to try.

Reading this board has been the most helpful guidance I've gotten since buying the MT. Thanks!
