"Although the MicroMemo literature mentioned using external mics, I was unable to find one that worked," stated Mark Nelson in his excellent review. I have been having trouble getting my AKG C1000S, which has 9 volt battery power, to work with the Micromemo. The mic is connected to the Micromemo via a Monster iCable (XLR to 3.5 mm). Is the connection the problem? Any suggestions, kind readers? All the best, Chris

  After some experimenting and help from the friendly tech support at The Sound Professionals, I found a cable that enables me to use my AKG CS1000 battery-powered condenser mic with my MicroMemo for iPod recording.

  Make certain you have the cable wired for Dual-Mono.
