It's interesting as I research the screencasting market to see that the development and deployment of the software to deliver screencasts stalled for a number of years.
The big players seem to have settled on a $300 price point - so it's no small investment
... Then I followed your link to the Wikipedia Roundup (http://www.donationcoder.com/Reviews/Archive/ScreenCasting/) and discovered there were some emerging low cost / low feature applications
I am sure these will help many people take their first steps to screencasting.
I believe screencasts will become THE training tool of the future
