Update: It turns out that the Rode Podcaster mic does output audio at the standard 44.1kHz rate — as well as several others. To get it to do so, I had to set the rate in both Peak and in Apple’s Audio MIDI Setup program. Even so, the new rate didn’t seem to take the first few times I changed it. All’s fine now.
