  Top Ten Aperture Features

This is a good introduction to Aperture's features, but it feels a bit like it was written with blinders on, as if these are all unique features in Aperture. Some are, most are not. There's a somewhat broader landscape of DAM apps now (iView MediaPro, Lightroom, even Bridge) and I don't get that impression from this article.

I've been using iView MediaPro for a year or so, and to be fair it doesn't do a quarter of the things Aperture does, but what it does do it does very well (image cataloging and metadata, editing in the traditional sense, etc.).

iView MediaPro is organized around making editing passes and arriving at a set of selects, and around applying metadata... Aperture doesn't touch it on those two features.

But I'm very grateful to Apple to have a trial version of Aperture, now I finally get to decide if I like it!

Thanks.
