I use the Mac and I have prepared a 90 slide P.P. presentation which I made into a ppt.mov. Can I open it with imovie and edit it there?

  You should be able to do that--iMovie will just probably try to convert your .mov file to a format it's happy with. Once that's done, though, you'll definitely be able to edit and manipulate the movie. It's just a matter of whether or not iMovie understands the format in your current ppt.mov file.
