I'm totally new to Eclipse RCP though I have been used Eclipse for quite a while. I wonder if there is a visual editing tool to help develop Eclipse UI plugins?

  The Eclipse Visual Editor includes support for SWT and JFace GUIs, which might be what you're after. It's available from the Callisto update site.
