Well, unfortunately it took me and our other developers nearly four years, but at long last Aqua is here at NeoOffice (http://www.neooffice.org) . While the approach wound up being slightly different, the technology progressed exactly in the same way as the presentation. The QuickDraw layer was replaced with a mixture of Java 2D and Cocoa, but Carbon and Swing totally did the widgets.


NeoOffice is finally done and is finally stable. It is totally possible to port Unix applications to Aqua, even if they are 8 millions line plus of C++ code!
