The example given for the very first "pvcreate" command has a typo. It should read:


pvcreate /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 /dev/sdd1


Note the partition number after the drive name, without this, you won't benefit from having the partition type detected at boot-time.
