What the Critics Don't Get About Apple's Aperture
Subject:   $500 for a beta release

The appalling thing about Aperture is that it is buggy as hell. Several file formats (including RAW) show up as an "unsupported file format" in Aperture. This gives me a nice maroon box, rather than a picture. Apparently, this bug is widespread, yet Apple has said or done nothing about it.

At least Adobe has the decency to give away its beta software. Apple rushes it out the door to make a fast buck.

Reporting that a file format is not supported is NOT a bug. 'hardcoreUFO' is obviously a troll, or simply stupid. The latter is nearer the truth either way.

Perhaps I'm stupid then, because I was not trolling. I believe Apple has gotten into the habit of releasing *very* shoddy 1.0 releases -- If you dont believe me, try using iWeb! Its not that the file format is not supported, as I was just looking at a RAW file, which Aperture is touted as supporting. Moreover, some users can view raw files, while others cant. Sounds like a bug to me.

      Or am I just "stupid"?
