Legitimate workarounds to proprietary offerings are one thing, such as using cables you already own to connect your iPod to a TV. But to defraud Apple is another matter all together. I do not support the notion of having Apple send you video cables you never purchased from them in the first place. I hope not one Mac DevCenter reader engages in this activity. It's just plain wrong.

  Dont be so Pious - it is a disgrace that Apple dont ship an A/V cable. Furthermore, if Apple are giving warranty on an A/V cable through the ipod that doesnt come with the IPod, it appears that it is acceptance that it should have come with that cable. And if a set of headphones that is in warranty breaks 12 times then why shouldnt he get 12 headphones?
  It alarms me that there is a tollerance for Apple trying to bleed extra money to accessorise an expensive device ahead of somebody helping his peers.
