dave you did well but i can't say i envy you the public debate (i do think they're healthy). I couldn't hear the ms proposed solution, is there a transcript? and were they arguing that it was easy (as in designed for) or doable (as in get your dev team on the case)? - there's a big difference. I think we're into the debate about 'logical soa' and 'physical soa' - most vendors plug logical soa but can't deliver physical soa (often because i'll only buy the services i need and I normally don't need that many (or also coz it involves a major rewrite ;-)). As a customer/implentor i don't care - soa 'promises' that i can deploy what i want where so to me its pretty obvious what the right answer should be. |
