Dave, I agree on the fact that a stripped-down BizTalk which just fulfills one integration requirement might not be cost-effective and probably is over-bloated. See my article in .NET Magazine: http://dotnet.sys-con.com/read/121831_1.htm on this, I already wrote it back in August when Microsoft's stance on the ESB was still vague (Scott Woodgate's paper came out later). So on this point I agree with you. However, it is never a good idea to start such a debate in public, so on this point I tend to disagree with you ;-). |

I'm not so sure that I agree. Public discourse is a wonderful thing, as long as the discourse remains respectful. Often exchanges such as this help both sides come away with more respect for the opposing viewpoint, and it's certainly entertaining to be in the audience ;-)
