If talkbacks mean "comments", I can only comment by saying: they vary greatly in signal-to-noise. But if you mean "trackbacks", well that's a different story. Get rid of them. 99.999999% of them are meaningless -- just quotes from the article and a link back to the article. Sort of like picking up the newspaper in the driveway, reading the headlines, and then walking around the block picking up each neighbor's newspaper just to read the same headlines. You find that interesting?! If you want to keep some kind of statistic about how often an article has been cited, just post a number.
