I wholeheartedly agree with this reader's comments about o/s stability. I've switched from IBM VM to DEC VMS/OpenVMS to Sun/Solaris to MS Win32 over the last 14 years. From a perspective of stability, I was most thrilled with VMS. I have heard second-hand reports of VMS systems running stably for years without a reboot.
