Strange thing is that I believe I have personalization set up correctly, as I'm able to create a simple profile item, "BackColor", and the data is stored in the SQL Server and able to be returned, indicating that personalization/profiling is working...
HELP!!!

In IIS, make sure that 'Anonymous' authentication is disabled and integrated windows authentication is enabled.
That should do the trick.
