In a paper in ACM SIGCSE conference in 2002, Bob Kummerfeld and I discussed a curriculum for educating software developers, within the constraints of a major in a typical US liberal-arts degree. This includes courses on a range of process aspects, but especially concentrating on "code construction" as represented in wonderful books like McConnell, Hunt-Thomas or Kernighan-Pike.
