Actually, there isn't any reason to fear privacy concerns atleast with options available for encryption. While encryption may not be all of the solution, it can atleast help suppress the context sensitive ads and more importantly make the long term memory of Gmail safer to take advantage of.


You can use PGP, and alternatively you can use Keygloo, a more simple and straight forward software that allows for web based email encryption. Recently, Keygloo also added support for Gmail encryption in addition to Yahoo mail, Hotmail, Lycos mail and Outlook Express. So the software allows reasonable interoperability between email systems.
