Im supprised noone mentioned this idea. Simply add a edison screw-in attachment. This would make the access point simply an extender. It would be dog meat easy and would not disrupt the 300w(!) spotlight. The other thing to do is to add a ceramic holder like you see many bare bulbs have to the bottom to keep the heat from the AP.
Another idea... Line the inside with tinfoil to make a reflector and increase the Wi-Fi signal strait down. Real easy to do and would make the bulb brighter.
