It's got lots of cool stuff for kids like support for sprites and simple graphics, it comes with sample programs full of bugs and dinosaurs and spaceships. Some of them even teach algebraic graphing, and fractals. It's free, it's a full-featured programming IDE with a simplified but structured language. KPL is based on .NET and KPL code can be converted to C# or VB.NET. It's NOT the line-numbered linear BASIC we all got started with.
