Hi, for some reason my Entourage chrashed. When I start it it I have a message: "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database". But when I try to do this (either typical or advanced rebuild) I get the message: "Compacting failed. A read/write error has occured (-40)", followed by: " Rebuilding failed. It is likely that your database cannot be repaired". Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Please help and many thanks.

    Did you ever find a solution for this? I am experiencing the same problem right now, and it's very distressing!

      Ditto to your question.... did you ever find a solution to "you cannot rebuild database". I really hope you are able to help. I have the same problem.

        I am a technician and am looking into this..
        as of now I suggest scraping the entire MSOffice program on you mac and reinstalling and setting it up again.

        Or better yet Ditch the MAC and get a PC with outlook... works better:)
