Is anyone else frustrated with the "Pro" QuickTime features you have to pay $39 for? If you buy a new mac, it comes bundled with: Safari 2 Mail 2 Address Book 4 iChat AV 3 Font Book 2 DVD Player 4. Preview 3 Xcode 2 Developer Tools iLife, which includes the latest versions of iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand Art Directors Toolkit X GraphicConverter OmniGraffle and OmniOutliner QuickBooks for Mac New User Edition Zinio Reader ...not to mention OS X 10.4 Tiger. But to save a movie in Quicktime? That's $39, please. Dumb.

  Are you talking about a different currency or are you just misinformed? If you are going to use the dollar sign without stating which country's currency you are referring to, please realize that most of us will understand that to mean US Dollars.
  
  Whether you are using some other currency or are using the wrong price, your arguments are hollow. Just because Apple gives you TextEdit, shouldn't you get Pages for free? They give you iMovieHD for free, why don't we get Final Cut Pro for free?
  
  If you are going to get $30 worth of benefit from the QuickTime Pro features, buy it. Otherwise, don't. It ain't rocket science, just the law of supply and demand.

  It is 39 EURO - and that is even more annoying, since 29US$ are about 20 EURO ...
  
  another thing that annoys me (and also prevents me from upgrading to Tiger) is that I only need QT6, but when I upgrade to Tiger, I have to pay a third of the OS price over again, just to be able to save my movies again (which I could do before for free!)

  but the annoying thing is not only QT - the hardware is almost the same (ok, a bit better) ... with QT it is just the most extreme example
