Well, there are currently options for this *right now*. That's why I picked up the Nokia 6600, running the Symbian OS. This allows one to develop programs in C++, J2ME, and Python. I have T-Mobile w/ their business internet access plan (~$20/month) which gives me unlimited access with all ports, both on my phone and via bluetooth to my laptop.
That's all I need. I can have a full web browser, hook up a bluetooth GPS received, keyboard, pen, etc.
