I noted Derrick's great solution for Mac users using ffmpegX, but found going directly from AVI M4S2 to .mov gave me a blocky result irrespective of settings. I found going first to AVI dVix, then on to .mov as a second stage gave me a QuickTime file indistinguishable from the M4S2 file. I should have checked Mac compatability of the 505 before I bought, but never thought to and fell in love with it at sight!

  My wife fell in love with the new Exilim EX-Z750, which has the great 640x480 30 fps movie mode of the 505 reviewed here. I process my wife's images and movies on my PowerBook. Casio continues not to support QuickTime. Here's my complaint about the ffmpegX solution that I discovered in this great review. The .mov created by ffmpegX that QT can read and play has the wrong aspect ratio, so the video is distorted, stretched horizontally. Yuck. Is there no way to preserve the correct video aspect ratio in the converted video with ffmpegX? Thanks!

  That sounds like something I should try, although I've had pretty good results going straight to Apple's MPEG-4 codec with a .mov extension.
  
  This workflow will get easier when ffmpegX adds batch processing. And don't forget that you can watch you P505 movies directly on the Mac using the VLC player. No encoding required.
