FM radios in cell phones would have been great ten or fifteen years ago when grunge and indie rock were putting life back into FM radio. Today they seem futile in an age when bubble-gum music and idle babble rule the airwaves; when classic rock stations are dying in major markets; and remaining rock stations hike the tempo of the music to fit in more commercials.
On the other hand, given that teenagers fuel cell phone sales in this country, integrated FM radios just might work. |
