Hi Derrick
I saw your short movie taken with p505 and also some at the exlim site...but I am interested in video taken witout a tripod... I am thinking about to buy this camera, I will be father in two moths, so I am looking for good camera with good image quality and also good video quality...I am not very skillful photographer, but not amateur...I want a quality...is this casio for me? :)

The video without a tripod is just as good on the camera end of the equation, but has the flaws (shaking, etc) that any handheld movie has -- regardless of the camera you use.

I would consider the Casio 505 if I were you, for a few reasons. New fathers take lots of pictures indoors. The popup flash on the Casio is one of its strongest performing features. I'm really impressed with it. Also, the swivel LCD is important for new parents who need to shoot at all sorts of weird angles. The 5-megapixel sensor gives you great 8x10 enlargements if you need them.

On the video side, the Casio isn't as strong as a dedicated DV camcorder. There isn't an image stabilizer function like you'd have on a DV unit, the image quality (although fantastic for a digital camera) isn't quite as good, and you don't have as many features. But if you want an "all in one camera/camcorder" and pictures are more important to you than video, consider the Casio.
