Just so everyone will know: I've been told by a LinkSys representative, that their BEFW11S4 wireless router will work in 802.11b environments and is Wi-Fi certified. When I originally wrote this article, I had two reliable sources that told me it wasn't, and I did not have access to one to actually test it. I apologize for an inconveniences that this has caused.   *Ahem* Well regardless of whether or not the BEFW11S4 is Wi-fi certified or not, I've got version 4 with the latest firmware. I get an IP address from it, but I can't ping the router or interact with the network in any way. I'm going to try some older firmware versions and then return the router if it still doesn't work. Does anyone know where I can find a list of Access Points that are known to work with the Xircom PWE?
