In my blog entry, I was discussing using shred on some sort of bootable CD, so like DBAN, it doesn't matter what OS is running on the actual hard drive.

    We are involved in regulatory compliance (i.e.: HIPAA and SOX) and need the professional support and customization. We can't rely on someone that has a staff of 1. We have found that freeware is generally worth what you pay for it.
