Excellent article. Don't forget that the "security professionals" benefit highly from the presence of a hyper demonized enemy. It's in their interests to exaggerate the threat from crackers: 1. It creates a market for their services 2. It lets them off the hook for their shoddy practices if they're facing über-kriminals
