I experimented with GEM / GEM pro for grain reduction. I ended up buying "grain surgery" (http://www.visinf.com/)instead. It seamed to work better for my scans at (4800 dpi negative scans).


Although slower and more expensive the results were consistently better.


They bother offer trial versions that leave watermarks, so you can try them yourself.


I don't own stock in either company :-).
