While I agree with Hadley that the ipod photo represents a great evolution of the ipod concept, I am disappointed that Apple didn't use the opportunity to innovate in the area of display technology. The LCD color screen is acceptable but not great and looks dull and washed out in bright light. With the latest generation of portable devices (Sony's Clie PEG-VZ90) sporting OLED displays that are brighter and don't require battery draining backlights, it would have been great had Apple chosen to adopt this display technology for the ipod photo. Let's hope that this particular innovation isn't too far down the road.
