could you hook this up to an xbox? Also does it require an Airport Extreme base station to talk do or will the original Airport base station work ok?

  I don't have an Xbox nor do I have a broadband adapter for my PS2 or Gamecube. So, I can't be sure. However, I can connect my Thinkpad to it via the Ethernet cable and get connected to the Internet, so I have no reason to doubt it wouldn't work with a gaming console.
  
  Unfortunately, the earlier AirPort base stations do not support WDS.
