Excellent article Dru. To update readers -- with last week's release of FreeBSD 5.3, the 4.x tree is now considered a "legacy" line. FreeBSD 5.3 now carries the STABLE tag and is recommended for general use. FreeBSD 6.0 is now CURRENT and used mainly by developers working on new features.
